| I offer private and small group lessons in my home in Exeter. I teach in the Traditional Irish method – i.e. by ear, but I teach all my students to read music. I thoroughly enjoy teaching all ages. I give my students opportunities to perform in various settings and encourage composition. |
| I am available for long and short term Residencies. Typically, medium and longer residencies will begin in the planning and development stages with the staff. I may do a teacher workshop
during the planning phase, helping pave the way for my visit. On the first day of the residency, I will do a short performance for the whole school – giving everyone an idea of what to expect. Some schools like to work with core groups and other schools want the entire school involved. This, of course depends upon the size of the school and the length of the residency. The children will learn Irish songs, dances, crafts, history, geography and poetry. Students will have the opportunity to play my harp, a fiddle, accordion, and bodhran(drum). I bring in these instruments specifically for the students to touch and experience the feel of the instrument. I bring iron-on transfers with Celtic designs for the students to use to make colorful T-shirts. With this activity, we explore the nature of Celtic art and the students will wear the the T-shirts at the culminating performance. I will work with the art teacher to incorporate other forms of Celtic art and craft. We end the residence with a Culminating
Performance involving the students and staff performing the songs,
dances, and poetry that they have learned. At the end of the
evening, we have the audience join us for a dance or two. We have
so much fun at the culminating event. 21/2 Beacon St. Concord, NH 03301 |

Some past residencies include: |
| I work with the elderly in Residential, Day Program, Nursing Home, and Alzhiemer’s settings. For many years as a Registered Nurse, I have cared for the elderly. I love hearing their stories and having them join me in song, poetry, and dance. I bring a small harp with me, along with a drum, fiddle and accordion for them to hold, bang, strum and in general, play with. |
| I play music before, during, and after the ceremony. I am also happy to sing for your ceremony. For the cocktail hour, you can have solo harp music or a combination of harp and other instruments. For dancing, I will teach and call ceili dances and will bring a ceili band to play the lively jigs, reels, and waltzes. |
